So anyway, um, what has the last year done to me? Well, around July, I was kicked out of my apartment in Virginia. After spending a week traveling around various motels, and wasting my money, I wound up totally homeless. I slept in my car for a bit, then on the floor of a good friend of mine's. Since the cost of living in northern VA is fucking insane, especially if you're only making $8.75 and hour. So the time came when I had to plan my next course of action. I was to either A, sell enough acid to get enough money to get a crappy shithole basement apartment for a minimum of $750 an month, or GTFO.
So GTFO I did. At the end of July, I quit my job and I traveled my way up to New Paltz, NY to chill with a couple furry friends of mine. If was a good time, but hot as fuck. Ate some mushrooms, smoked some hash, drew some strange stuff, and got turned on to good music and things. From there, I went back down to DC, spent the night, then made my way to Memphis, TN, to chill with another fur, whereupon we smoked loads of grass, and got rather drunk. After this, i wound up in Henryetta, Oklahoma, in this creepy motel staffed by Indians and run by a wrinkly old man. I was very paranoid about the whole Oklahoma thing after hearing about certain draconian laws they have in that delightfully backward Midwestern state involving marijuana (if you're from there, don't worry, I have family in Kansas and Oklahoma, so I insulting them also). Of course, up to this point, I had been smoking copious amounts of Marijuana for about two months prior, and it was entirely too easy to get paranoid. From there I wound up in driving though Tex-ass, where I smoked a bowl in a gas station in Amarillo, while getting strange looks form good ol' boys. On the road afterwards, realized that I was a stranger in a strange land when the only noteworthy thing on the side of the road was "The world's largest Aluminum Cross (A spiritual experience you'll never forget!)"...................................................................
Anyway, after this, the next enclave of real civilization I encountered was Albuquerque, NM. You know how every major and semi-major city in America has it's own distinct personality? Well, that city is, without a doubt, America's mental-hospital. It's like, all craziness in America somehow moves to that town, and gets distilled. Anyway, after this, I chilled with another fur in Santa Fe, where I got really, really baked, and, due to High altitude, and a bloodstream full of THC, managed to get trapped in his car like three times, without making the proper brain connections to figure out how to exit. Delightfully embarrassing.
Following this, I drove through New Mexico and wound up getting Gas in Gallup. Now, I've been to Gallup before, and it's an uh, interesting place. My aunt used to be the Chief finance, uh, person for McKinley county, which Gallup is the center of. It's an area surrounded by hundreds of miles of Indian reservations, in the middle of nowhere. Literally. Hoping it wasn't the day the Indians got their government checks, for fear of being caught up in the drunken rampages that occur due to this twice a month.
Shortly after this, or maybe before this, I can't remember, I as able to witness a tornado hitting a Windmill a few miles from the road. Since I was stoned out of my gourd, i was curious as to the metaphysical significance of this. I forgot what the answer I came up with was.
Anyway, from there I drove to Flagstaff, AZ, departed from my interstate home for the last three days, I-10, hit up the I-17 and, with Frank Zappa's song "Apostrophe" blasting for about an hour and a half straight, wound up in my final destination, the Geriatric (retirement) mega-center of the Sun city/Sun city west section in the far western portion of the Phoenix area. This of course, is where I'm sitting now, in my mom's place.
I, naturally, had to move to the desert in the latter half of august, in the middle of summer. Not only that, but, go figure, it was the hottest summer on record. The most days in a row over 110 degrees. Followed by the most days in a row over 100 degrees. i got sick, and wound up in the hospital. Ha HA!!! To make matters worse, the job market, which was doing great, ended up getting really shitty by the time I got here. I, despite looking a lot, still have no job. But I am starting school, which is nice.
So, I now do NOT live in the DC area (thank god), but live in the Sonoran desert, where, at the time of writing, is raining a hell of a LOT, deciding to make up for the insanely hot and dry summer all at once. What the fuck?
Anyway, I'm here, I've been here for a bit, and maybe, maybe while I'm here, I'll be more active on DA. I'm not making any promises, though...
